Las Brisas Restaurant - Laguna Beach

My wife and I ate here for their breakfast buffet and neither of us was that impressed with the food. Some of the items were good, but most of them were just average. We got there early so we were able to get a nice table that had window view of the coast. Unfortunately we didn’t get to have omelettes because by the time we were ready to have one the line was ridiculously long and by the looks of the movement of the cooks it would have taken upwards of 15-20 minutes to get through it.

The price isn’t bad, but honestly it’s only worth it because of the view.

We’ve never gone here for dinner, so I’m strictly rating the weekend breakfast. YMMV.

The Filling Station - Orange

My fiancee and I went here for breakfast on Sunday and it was delicious. I ordered the Eggs Florentine and she had a Breakfast Burrito. The eggs were perfect the portion was huge, it came with 4 slices of bacon. The iced tea tasted really good as well. I’ve ate there in the past for lunch getting a hamburger which was huge and really good. This place specializes in great food. You also get one of the best views around because it’s near the circle in Orange.

The service was good. The price was great, less then 8 bucks for breakfast is cheap, unless you are comparing it fast food.

Another thing we noticed is they are dog friendly. If you bring your best friend with you they will ask you if you’d like a bowl of water. Next time we are bring our dog with us.

My only complaint is their limited hours of only breakfast and lunch, I’d love to have a burger there for dinner sometime.

Arthur’s - Orange

I’ve drove by this place so many times in the last 7 years, and recently I kept telling my wife that “we gotta try that place for breakfast one of these days.” So last Sunday came and when the question was “what do you want for breakfast?”, came up, I quickly replied with, “It’s about time we go and try Arthur’s, I mean they claim to have the best breakfast in town!”

So we went, and then again this past Sunday we went again! They have so of the most delicious biscuits I have ever tasted. My first visit I got eggs Florentine which was very good, and gave me a good tasting of what to expect from them, since it has a good mixture of ingredients. Yesterday, I had just straight ol’ bacon and eggs with was very good once again. The bacon was cooked just about right, it wasn’t too hard and dry like it can be at some places, but it had just enough crunch. My only issue was with the potatoes that I wish had been a little more well done (but that’s my own feeling, next time I’ll just ask for them that way, I like crunch in my potatoes). And of course the biscuits, yum! My wife got their country eggs Benedict on our first visit, which had biscuits!, that of course were great, and a very good tasting gravy. Yesterday she just had a stack of pancakes with nothing else, and as she said when I asked her how they were “they are pancakes, they pretty much always taste the same”. Their food is great, so we are going to be going there for dinner one of these days now to see how they do with that, their menu looks very appetizing.

Service has been good, although if you go there before 8 AM on a Sunday they seem to be slightly understaffed till additional waitresses come in at 8. Even so the waitress that has been there does a good job running around making sure everyone is handled.

We will be going back here again and again, and we highly suggest you check them out as well.
