Where should I go?
It’s not that I’ve run out of reviews, it’s just I’d like to get some new suggestions on places to try. I have a long list of places to go already, but tell me some of your favorites. Maybe I can cut them in line. Tell me what you like, why you like it, your favorite dish, and where it’s located. I’ll see if I can get there soon.
Also tell me about yourself. I’m always looking for new people to follow on the internet, share your website with me, and maybe we can exchange links to help each other out and spread the word about the great food that can be found in Orange County!

2008 Orange International Street Fair

Orange International Street Fair Poster 2008
One of my favorite times of the year is Labor day, because not only do I get a three day weekend, but I also get to drink delicious beer and eat food from a large assortment of countries and the Orange International Street Fair! What? You say you’ve never heard of it? This is the 36th year of celebration as the City of Orange brings together over 50 charity organizations from around the area to give you tastes of food and drink from around the world. This year’s fair starts Friday August 29th and concludes Sunday August 31st. The location is at the Orange Plaza Sqaure, where Chapman and Glassell meet.
There is food, beer, entertainment, beer, children’s activities, beer, music, beer, and beer! It’s really a great event and it helps a lot of local charities. This will be our third year going, it is very convenient living close by since parking is difficult.
Here is just a sampling of the different foods you can enjoy!
All American Street - Buffalo Wings, Philly Cheesesteaks, BBQ, Roasted Corn, Frozen Bananas, Beer
Australian Street - Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Jalapeño Pickles, Beer
Danish Street - Danish Doughnuts, Fruit Jams, Pastries (I wonder if they are danishes?), Beer
English Street - Fish and Chips, Beer
German Street - Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, Ice Tea, Beer
Irish Street - Irish Nachos, Beer
Mexican Street - Burritos, Taquitos, Chimichangas, Mexican Corn, Mexican Beer
Swiss Street - Bratwurst, Polish Sausage (I thought they were from Poland), Spicy Swiss Sausage, Lemonade, Beer
That is just about half of what you can except at this year. Look for me on Sunday with my entourage hanging out at Irish Street while the great local Orange County band, The American Wake rocks out!
And remember it’s all for a good cause, the city of Orange does a fantastic job every year.

Del Taco Grand Opening - Ontario
Just wanted to let those of you that live in Ontario near Jurupa and the I-15 that there is a new Del Taco that officially opened up yesterday. I went there today to pick up some lunch and it was packed. The parking situation is going to be a little tough till they figure it out. But you get the same great Del Taco that you are accustomed to and it’s definitely in a great spot because there aren’t many choices around. I had a brief talk with the owner (Gary) and he was dressed in uniform helping customers and making sure people were getting their orders.

Wow today is my week over at Griffin Eats OC. He went to not one, but two places I recommended this week! First he went to Lazy Dog Cafe in Orange, had exceptional service, great food, and loved it. Next he went to Cha Thai in Orange and loved the soup but wished they made the rest of their food spicier. Glad you liked the places Griffin.
Then today Gustavo over at OC Weekly did a review for PK Burger, which is one of the best hamburger joints located near my work. I’d like to think he went there based on my review, but one can only hope that’s why. If you are out there Gus say hi, I read you all the time in OC Weekly.
I have reviews coming, in fact I have 6 waiting to be wrote up (Taco Adobe, Memphis, BJs Pizza, El Faralito, Wings ‘n Things, Blake’s Place), been a very hectic week at work, and I lost half of the pictures I took when I was out.
Thank you everyone that has visited the site lately. Also wanted to give a shout out to my main site sponsor Foodbuzz who is taking some of us OC Foodies out to dinner next Thursday! I’m looking forward to meeting you all!
OC Weekly Food Issue 2008
Just wanted to bring this to those of you that hadn’t already seen it. Edwin Goei and Gustavo Arellano put together a very good and comprehensive list of places to get your food fix in Orange County, for under $15. I was sort of surprised by the lack of straight ol American food. There are definitely some places I would have added to the list if I had been a part of it, but it shows me that I haven’t even touched the surface of places to eat in OC. I think I’ve been lucky to go to 2 or 3 of the places listed. I’ll post more later about those I have visited and those that I now what to visit after reading their article.
Thanks for the great work guys!
