Pizza Grande - Stanton
This is the best pizza in Stanton. I grew up eating this stuff. And I continued to order it after I moved out of my parents. It’s not ground breaking pizza but they do a good job not screwing it up.

Sandwich Deli Stop - Stanton
This place used to be the greatest sandwich place I knew of. But now they have changed ownership and although it’s still good, it’s not quite as good as it used to be. I’m a big fan of the Turkey, Bacon, Avocado, great sandwich. They use great bread, which really is important, it’s fresh and has just enough texture to it.
The previous owners were really nice people and always remembered me. The new owners seem really nice and I will continue to come as long as the quality continues to be above par.

Earl’s Home Cookin - Orange (closed)
Earl’s Home Cookin is closed!
(disclaimer, I wrote this review back in October of 2007, little did I know I predicted their demise…)
Hey everyone it’s the 25 hour place! Oh wait, it’s not anymore. Earl’s used to be open 25 hours a day, but now they are working on giving that extra hour they took from the day back. Earl’s is now only open 8AM - 3 PM Tuesday - Saturday. I personally expect them to be closed 25 hours a day by sometime next year. Earl’s just isn’t that good. We had breakfast there on Sunday, because I suggested to my wife that we had a change of pace from the typical Arthur’s fare we usually have (an AMAZING place just down the street). My food wasn’t terrible but nothing was really that good. This is why I still gave good ol’ Earl 2 stars. There are just too many better places around for anyone to recommend going to Earl’s, unless you are really cheap and don’t care about quality of the food.
I suggest spending an extra 2 dollars and going to Arthur’s which is a little further South on Tustin, just before Chapman.

Villa Nova - Newport Beach
I went here for the first time last night and I was very impressed. After reading some of the reviews I was ready to get ripped off with overpriced plates of average Italian food. But when I opened up the menu and saw the pasta dish prices starting at $12.95 it made me wonder what exactly those that complained about the price were smoking and if I could have a toke off of it (highest prices were in the low 30’s but most everything was 13-30 range). Granted it’s buck or two more expensive then Olive Garden, but I’m not being served by 16 year olds that don’t know the difference from a Merlot to a Port if the bottle hit them on the head. The wait staff was terrific and the one issue we had with our order when it was brought to our table was fixed quickly (someone ordered a side of spaghetti but got mashed potatoes instead).
And then there is the view! Most people pay a premium for a view like the one you get here. This is the place you take your first date, then when you ask her to marry, and then on your anniversary, it’s that beautiful.
Is it the best food in Orange County? No. Is it the best deal in Orange County? No. But if you add it all up, this is a 4+ star establishment that everyone needs visit at least once, if not more.

Oggi’s Pizza and Brewing Co. - Tustin
We have gone to three Oggi’s, and this one being the closest is now the most likely one we end up at. They have great pizza with lots of different types of toppings you can order it with. We normally just get something basic when we order pizza there, pepperoni and extra sauce or just a veggie.
Our most recent visit we decided to mix it up and order regular food instead of pizza. I got an order of fish and chips which were delicious. They were lightly breaded with panko and deep fried. The chips were lightly breaded with some seasoned flour and had good taste, especially when I asked for a side of BBQ and the BBQ was served to me hot. I love hot BBQ sauce.
My wife ordered the caesar chicken wrap which also came with fries. She liked it a lot, I had a taste and it was full of flavor.
Oggi’s is a really nice place to go if you are just looking to have a nice relaxing night out watching the game. The place is filled with TVs and some HD projector screens. It’s pretty much a sports bar, pizza place, brewery. It’s a nice change of pace from BJ Pizzeria which we love.

O.C. Resturant Reviews
For those of you that didn’t know I’ve been doing reviews on various sites for the last couple years (Yahoo Local and Yelp). Well I’m going to continue to add my reviews to Yelp.com but I’m also going to start posting them here to my site. You will get a lot of posts from me in the next couple days as I import my food reviews into this site. Just giving you all a heads up.
Burrell’s BBQ - Santa Ana
Really good food so far. I went here for the first time today and was impressed. Granted it’s not the best BBQ I’ve ever had but it’s good stuff. I love the atmosphere of the place because it’s so small and hole in the wall looking. You can have a nice picnic out on their lawn and enjoy the day as you get your BBQ on.
I ordered the beef tri-tip lunch with mac and cheese and it didn’t disappoint. The beef had a very good flavor and was soft and juicy. The mac and cheese was good especially since I got some of the crunch top and side parts that I love the most. The cornbread was good, not to dry and not to soft, with just enough sweetness.
This is one of Orange County’s gems, I’m glad I finally found it!
